Linda A. Gies

Linda A. Gies, 65, of 1271 S. Michael Rd., St. Marys, died on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 17, 1947 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha Wehler Schneider.
On Nov. 18, 1967 in Queen of the World Church, she married Robert Gies, who survives.
Mrs. Gies was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1965.  She was a member of Queen of the World Church and enjoyed reading and caring for others, especially for her parents in their later years. She also enjoyed spending time with her pets and taking care of the dogs.
In addition to her husband of nearly 45 years, Robert Gies, she is survived by a daughter, Jessica Gies and her fiance Craig Sechman of Force; three sisters, Sally, Mrs. John Cherry of Johnsonburg, Sue Sadley of St. Marys and Nancy, Mrs. Don Angelo of Weedville; three brothers, James Schneider and his wife Debbie of St. Marys, Stephen Schneider and his wife Aggie of Marysville, and Raymond Schneider Jr. and his wife Janice of Clearfield; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Schneider.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Linda A. Gies will be celebrated at the Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at noon, with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, as celebrant. 
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
