Photo submitted Pictured above is the U.S.S. Grunion, a World War II submarine that was lost at sea in 1942. Among the crew was Carmine Parziale of Weedville.

Mary Parziale Bentz, of Washington, D.C. and formerly of Brockway, recently released a book with her husband Richard entitled "We Remember Them: A Biographical Supplement for Fatal Dive."
"We Remember Them" contains biographies of the crew of the World War II submarine the USS Grunion, which sunk near the Japanese-occupied Aleutian Island of Kiska on July 30, 1942.
Though the exact cause of the Grunion's demise remains unknown, it is believed that a confrontation occurred between the Grunion and a Japanese ship.
