Local parishes celebrate sacrament of Confirmation

March 11, 2012

Photo by Becky Polaski - Bishop Donald Trautman is pictured as he is leaving Queen of the World Church following the Confirmation ceremony on Sunday afternoon. Sunday's Confirmation ceremony may have been Trautman's last in St. Marys, as he is retiring and is waiting for a successor to be named.

Over 80 area students and adults were confirmed as adult members of the Roman Catholic church on Sunday afternoon by the Most Reverend Donald W. Trautman, STD, SSL, Bishop of Erie; and the Right Reverend Douglas Nowicki, O.S.B., Archabbot of St. Vincent Archabbey, in a ceremony held at Queen of the World Church. The majority of the Confirmation candidates were members of Queen of the World, Sacred Heart, and St. Mary's parishes.
