A look inside the Bucktails

MT. ZION - Robert Winslow Nay, author of “The Elk County Rifles: Soldier Profiles and the Bucktail Spirit," spoke about some of the individual soldiers and their contributions to the war effort, for both their comrades and the Union at the dedication of the Bucktail Monument at Mt. Zion Historical Park.
Nay, who is related to the area Winslows, said it was a great gift to research the soldiers in the book and credited area historians Jim Burke, Michael Parana, and Bill Robertson
with sharing their time and knowledge. Nay also told brief stories about three different soldiers with local ties.
