Mae C. Bradshaw, 91, of 123 Bradley Rd., Centre Hall, and a former St. Marys area resident, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 22, 1919 in Wakefield, Mich., daughter of the late Edward and Catherine McDonald Vaughn. On Nov. 30, 1940, in Detroit, she married Elmo F. Bradshaw II, who preceded her in death on May 23, 1967.
She was a graduate of Detroit schools. She had worked at the former Thrift Drug store in St. Marys and was a volunteer at the hospital's hospitality shop. She was loved by everyone in her family and as a wife and mother was always there for her family. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Marcia Wittman (Michael) of Centre Hall and Cynthia Herrier (Bruce) of Centre Hall; six sons, Elmo F. Bradshaw (Angee) of Landrum, S.C., Michael T. Bradshaw (Andrea) of Grand Junction, Colo., Steven E. Bradshaw (Susan) of West Hills, Calif., Mark S. Bradshaw (Wendy) of Smethport, Thomas B. Bradshaw (Margaret) of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Peter J. Bradshaw of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren, Janet Johnson (Greg), Jeffrey Bradshaw (Dalene), Laura Bradshaw, Brian Bradshaw, Michael T. Bradshaw, Jr. (Jill), Andrew Bradshaw (Shannon), Justin Bradshaw (Whitney), Lindsay Bradshaw, Emily Bradshaw, Ann Wittman Clark (Kevin), Suzanne Wittman, Kate Herrier, Matt Herrier, Nick Bradshaw (Kristi), Chloe Bradshaw, Christine Bradshaw, Catherine Bradshaw and Sarah Bradshaw; great-grandchildren, Caitlin Johnson, Evan Johnson, Kyle Bradshaw, Kasy Bradshaw, Ethan Bradshaw, Alex Bradshaw, Nate Porter, Allie Bradshaw, Amanda Bradshaw, Nikki Bradshaw, Avery Bradshaw, Evan Bradshaw, Aaron Bradshaw, Sera Clark, Abigail Bradshaw, and Olivia Bradshaw; a brother, Robert Vaughn of White Lake, Mich.; and nieces and nephews, Nancy Appleton, Robert Benoit, James Benoit, Kenneth Benoit, Daniel Vaughn, Theresa Vaughn, Donald Vaughn, David Vaughn and Susan Grube.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Craig T. Bradshaw; a sister, Florence Benoit; a brother, Donald Vaughn; three grandchildren, Catherine, Karen A. and Joseph Bradshaw; and by a nephew, Keith Benoit.
Family and friends of Mae C. Bradshaw are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
There will be a private family visitation.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity.
