A Fourth Street house was demolished on Tuesday afternoon as part of the downtown St. Marys hotel project in which three structures were demolished including two on Depot Street taken down on Monday. R.J. Vollmer Excavating of St. Marys was awarded the demolition contract for the project. Several crews were onsite Tuesday as others worked to clear debris piles leftover from the structures while an environmental firm utilized equipment to obtain samples from the area, in part to determine how much fill will be needed to elevate a portion of the area above the 100 year flood plane.
