Man charged in Sheetz knife-wielding incident

April 24, 2014

A Brookville resident is charged with removing items from Sheetz and then threatening a witness with a 5 3/4 inch bladed knife.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, George Henry Mitchell Jr., 24, was observed around 8 p.m. on April 14 removing energy drinks and beef jerky from Sheetz while wearing a T-shirt that said "I love bath salts." Kyle Vanalstine told the manager about the theft. Mitchell then reportedly confronted Vanalstine and Gary Defrain in the parking lot, yelling at them and pointing a knife near Defrain's face. Mitchell reportedly chased them as they drove away and also made threats to them and their families, according to court documents.
