Man pleads guilty to assault after running over wife

RIDGWAY - A St. Marys man charged with running over his wife with a pickup truck during the escalation of a verbal dispute was in Elk County Court Monday, where he entered a plea of guilty to a misdemeanor charge of simple assault. In accepting the plea bargain offered him by the prosecution, Lee F. Reider, 60, of St. Marys, avoided the more serious charges of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment that stemmed from the incident.
