Margaret C. Severance

Margaret C. Severance, 91, of 101 N. Mill St., Ridgway died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born Nov. 28, 1920, in Sargent, the daughter of Philip and Christina Amicone Scutella.
She married Guy J. Severance, who predeceased her on July 13, 1992.
Mrs. Severance was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church. She had been employed at Elk County General Hospital, retiring in 1985, after 35 years of service.
She is survived by two sons, William Severance of Cumberland, Md., and Michael Severance (Becky) of Erie; four grandchildren, Chris Severance and Caroline Severance of Ridgway, and Bernadine Severance and Jacqueline Severance of Erie; two great-grandsons, Ellis and Steven; and by two sisters, Rosemary Scutella Bloomquist (James) of Frewsburg, N.Y. and JoAnn Scutella of Kane.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Guy Severance Jr.; a sister, Eleanor Avenelli; and by two brothers, Michael and William Scutella.
A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service for Margaret Severance, will be celebrated at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Brian Vossler, pastor. Interment will be in Holy Rosary in Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Friday, May 18, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday at St. Leo’s Church for one hour prior to Mass.
