Margaret A. Eckert

Margaret A. Eckert, 89, of 131 Wendel Rd., St. Marys, died on Wed., August 1, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illess.
She was born Jan. 31, 1923 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George and Margaret Geyer Schneider.
On Nov. 27, 1943 in St. Mary's Church, she married the late James G. Eckert, who preceded her in death on March 16, 1993.
Mrs. Eckert was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and was educated in the local schools. She was a member of Queen of the World Church. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and homemaker. 
She is survived by four sons, Gary G. Eckert and his wife Carol of St. Marys, Kenneth J. Eckert and his wife Marilyn of St. Marys, Stephen J. Eckert and his wife Peggy Jo of St. Marys and Timothy J. Eckert and his wife Candace of St. Marys; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Wagner of St. Marys, Theresia, Mrs. John Gier of Kansas, and Hilda Kronenwetter of New Jersey; and two brothers, Norman Schneider and his wife Anna of St. Marys and Donald Schneider and his wife Joann of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Eckert, on Dec. 13, 2009; two sisters Alice Schneider and Francis Burfield; and four brothers, Robert, George, Lawrence and James Schneider.
Relatives and friends of Margaret A. Eckert are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, PA 15857; or to a charity of choice.
