Marguerite J. "Mag" Schaut, 82, of 72 Erie Ave., Marienstadt Place, St. Marys, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 14, 1930 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Zolferino and Mary Nart Marconi.
On Aug. 14, 1949, in the St. Leo's Church in Ridgway, she married Mark A. Schaut, who preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1993.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1948. She was an employee of the former Thrift Drug Store in St. Marys.
Mrs. Schaut was a member of the St. Mary's Church and loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Marguerite is survived by six daughters, Gloria Niederhofer of Portland, Ore., Karen Dick (Joseph) of St. Marys, Cynthia Maxim of Butler, Valerie Wendel (Gail) of St. Marys, Marsha Dallasen of Kersey, and Julie Greenthaner (Rodney) of St. Marys; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith Cortina (Silvio) of St. Marys; and two brothers, Alfred (Cork) Marconi (Marilys) of St. Marys and Andrew (Ike) Marconi of Philadelphia.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Jane Zegar; a sister, Louise Mattiuz; and by five brothers, Aurelius, Victor, James, and Charles, and in infancy Eugene Marconi.
Family and friends of Marguerite J. "Mag" Schaut are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary's Church on Sat., Oct. 27, 2012 at 9:30 a.m., with the Rev. Daniel Wolfel, O.S.B., as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
