Marina T. Agens

Marina T. Agens, 86, of 101 N. Mill St., Ridgway, died Sunday, October 16, 2011, in the home of her sister, Beverly MacDonald, at 1533 Front St.
She was born January 30, 1925, in Ridgway, the daughter of the late R. Joseph and Lavina M. Ross Tettis. She married Donald J. Agens, who predeceased her on Februaury 16, 2001.
Mrs. Agens had resided most of her life in Ridgway. She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, the C.D. of A., and the Ridgway Senior Center.
She graduated from St. Leo’s High School, Class of 1942. She resided at the Ridgway High-Rise, where she was very involved with committees and activities, including the flowers for the chapel there.
She is survived by a son, Theodore Agens and his wife Yong Suk of Ridgway; 3 grandchildren, Leah, Rebecca and Jason Agens, all of Ridgway; two brothers, James C. Tettis and his wife Doris of St. Marys, and Joseph R. Tettis and his wife Sanita of Ridgway; two sisters, Rosemary Connacher of Orlando, Fla., and Beverly T. MacDonald of Ridgway; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and by many loving and caring friends at the High-Rise.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother and his wife, John C. and Carol Kopp Tettis.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marina T. Agens will be celebrated at St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Brian Vossler, pastor. Interment will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Helpmates, 225 South St., Ridgway, PA 15853; or to St. Leo’s School, 117 Depot St., Ridgway, PA 15853.
