Marshall E. Wilson

Marshall E. Wilson, 81, of 78 Springbrook Dr., Ridgway, died Thursday morning, Aug. 16, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center following a lengthy illness. He was born March 9, 1931 in Ridgway, son of the late Benton C. and Margaret B. (Evans) Wilson. He married Maude Helen Salberg on March 17, 1956; she preceded him in death on March 9, 2011.
He had resided in Ridgway all of his life and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Elks Lodge #872, where he was a past exalted ruler, a past president of the Clarion River Reptile Association, a past president of the Elk County Farm Bureau and a member of the Ridgway Eagles Club. He had been the owner and operator of Springbrook Dairy for most of his adult life. Marshall was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by one son, Charles E. Wilson and his wife Laura of Fairview; three daughters, Marilyn E. Blint and her husband Scott of Portersville, Beth Ann Cameroni and her husband Michael of Force and Susan M. Ross and her husband Richard of Ridgway; 10 grandchildren, Leann, Christine, Breann, Brittany, Kohl, Travis, Joshua, Randi, Taylor and Jenna; four great-grandchildren, R.J., Gianna, Mia and Colton; two sisters, Myrtle Ewings of Ridgway and Shirley McCoy of Treasure Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, David Wilson in infancy; six brothers, Milton, Cliffton, Gerald, Lyle, Wesley and Wilber Wilson; and one sister, Eula Briggs.
A memorial service for Marshall E. Wilson will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Monday, at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Roger A. Peterson Jr., pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Ridgway Ambulance Corp. or to the Community Nurses, Inc.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
