Mary E. Stahli

Mary E. Stahli, 83, of Worrall Street, Wilcox, died at home Saturday, August 20, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 5, 1928 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Francis P. and Maude (Fellows) McCabe. On March 17, 1949, she married Harold Stahli, who preceded her in death on August 16, 1987.
She lived all her life in Johnsonburg and Wilcox and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was employed by Stackpole Carbon of Johnsonburg for many years and the Grant House of Wilcox.
She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church of Wilcox. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and her family, especially the younger generations.
She is survived by four children, Debora McCandless of Kersey, Cindy Moore of Angola, N.Y., Pauline Stahli of Johnsonburg, and David “Butch” Stahli of St. Marys; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Robert McCabe of Johnsonburg.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Tom Stahli; a daughter, Rosemary Stahli; two brothers, Jack and William “Bud” Doyle; a sister, Annie Stahli; and two grandchildren, Justin Michael Stahli and one in infancy.
A funeral service for Mary E. Stahli will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Johnsonburg, with Father David Wilson celebrating. Interment will take place at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, August 24 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home in Johnsonburg.
