Mary J. (Krug) Schlimm

Mary J. (Krug) Schlimm, 76, of 480 Dippold Ave., St. Marys, died on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at her home unexpectedly.
She was born Jan. 15, 1937 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Edward and Clara Hasselman Krug.
On June 28, 1958, in the Queen of the World Church, she married Harrison Schlimm and he survives.
Mary was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1955. She was a retired employee of the St. Marys Area School District where she had worked for over 30 years.
She served on St. Marys Borough Council and was then elected to the newly formed St. Marys City Council and was a longtime member of the Library Board. She enjoyed playing cards with her Tuesday night card club, reading, puzzles and spending time with her family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Ann Graml and her husband Mike of Erie, Julie Newton and her husband Craig of St. Marys, and Krista Wood and her husband Greg of Glen Mills; two sons, Randy Schlimm of Glen Hazel and Ed Schlimm and his wife Kim of St. Marys; 14 grandchildren, Chelsea Graml, Shelby Graml, Michael Schlimm, Richard Schlimm, Alyssa Cunningham, Crystal Spence, Samantha Schlimm, Ryan Newton, Taylor Newton, Tori Newton, Payton Newton, Madison Wood, Lauren Wood and Sarah Wood; three sisters, Dorothy Marciniak of Cumberland, R.I., Clara Bezek and her husband John of Cape Carteret, N.C., and Twila Gleixner and her husband Jude of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Straub and in infancy Martha Krug; and by six brothers, Richard, Gilbert, Raymond, James, Earl and William Krug.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary J. (Krug) Schlimm will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, pastor as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
