Mary Lou Hammar

Mary Lou Hammar (nee Gillen), 84, died unexpectedly on Jan. 1, 2011, surrounded by her family.
She was born in St. Marys.
She married John Hammar, who preceded her in death.
She moved to Erie when she married her husband. They retired to Venice, Fla. in the 1990s, and then moved to Naples to be near family.
She is survived by three sons, Jim (Rosemary) of Naples, Fla., Tim (Gert) of Tampa, Fla., and Tom (Beverly) of Phoenix, Ariz; six grandchildren, Erica Blum (Michael) of Michigan, Mark Hobert Jr. of Naples, Fla., Skyler and Tyler Hammar of Arizona, Kim Esquilla of North Carolina, David Hammar of Ohio; and a great-grandchild, Katie Hammar of North Carolina.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David.
A memorial service for Mary Lou Hammar will be held Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. at St. William's Church, Seagate Drive, Naples, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of one's choice.
