Matthew J. Minnick, 37, of 444 Chestnut St., St. Marys, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 in St. Marys.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1974 in Ridgway, the son of Robert and Katherine Lion Minnick of St. Marys, who survive. On Nov. 5, 1999, in St. Marys, he married Elizabeth (Beth) Kamats, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1992, and a graduate of Mercyhurst College, Class of 1996.
He loved the outdoors, woodcarving, hunting and spending time with his children.
He was an employee of Metaldyne in Ridgway.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Casey Minnick, at home; a son, Alex Minnick, at home; a brother, Timothy Minnick and his wife Teresa of Harrisburg; his paternal grandparents, William and Arlene Lenze Minnick of St. Marys; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Jane Kamats of Austin.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Irene Wehler Lion.
Family and friends of Matthew J. Minnick are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in Queen of the World Church on Friday at noon, with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
The Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
