Melvin M. Bonfardin

Melvin M. Bonfardin, 75, of Mayport, died Saturday evening, Sept. 15, 2012 at home.
Born March 4, 1937, in Benezette, son of the late Joseph and Hazel Hartman Bonfardin.
On June 24, 2006, in Mayport, he married Luella Brocious, who survives.
Mr. Bonfardin was employed as a gas meter specialist for CNG Transmission until he retired in 1994. Melvin enjoyed time at camp, hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Along with his wife, he is survived by three sons, Louis Bonfardine of Weedville, Joseph (Melissa) Bonfardine of Brookville, and Lance (Tracie) Bonfardine of Corsica; four daughters, Rebecca Bonfardine of Hazen, Rita Bonfardine of Pensacola, Fla., Sandy (William) Patterson of Pensacola, Fla., and Tina (Kevin) Dinger of Hazen; two brothers, Vincent (Helen) Bonfardin of DuBois, and Jerry (Mary Lee) Bonfardine of St. Marys; a sister, Marianna (the late Eugene) Cimino of Sabula; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a stepson, Rusty (Hope) Young, of Cloe; and a stepdaughter, Crystal (Brian) Stanford of Ringgold.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two very special friends, John Grinder and Charles "Shorty" Yost.
Funeral services for Melvin M. Bonfardin will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong funeral director, corner of Broad Street and and First Avenue, Summerville, with the Rev. Randall Bain officiating.
Interment will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Benezette Twp.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, 12045 Bennetts Valley Highway, Penfield. Friends will also be received on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at the Furlong Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Brookville Little League or the Benezette United Methodist Church.
