Memorial Day plans finalized

The Memorial Day Committee has announced completed plans for the annual observance of Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2014.
The day's activities will begin at 8 a.m. with graveside services by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1047 in the Protestant Cemetery on Washington Street at the graveside of World War II veteran Richard L. Young.
Similar services will be conducted at the gravesite of World War II veteran John Dailey in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The public is invited to attend these impressive ceremonies, which emulate the true meaning of Memorial Day.
Formation of the parade will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the American Legion parking lot on Center Street. The parade will move out promptly at 10 a.m.
