Merle W. "Bus" Liggitt

Merle W. "Bus" Liggitt, 86, of Zelienople, formerly of McDonald and St. Marys, died Monday, August 29, 2011 in the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.
He was born October 14, 1924, in Rennerdale, son of the late Mueirl William and Amanda (Walton) Liggitt.
He was a truck driver/owner. He was also a single-engine private pilot, enjoyed playing the steel guitar and was a fan of Archer II. He was a member of the United Mine Workers and former member of the Washington Nazarene Church.
He is survived by his wife, LaRue Liggitt; one son, Gary Liggit of St. Marys; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; four sisters, Delores Speer, Gloria Smith, Velma Tubby Conklin, and Esther Hill; a stepdaughter, Karen (Ace) Stephansky; and two step-grandchildren, Erin and Justin Stephansky.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Martha (Culley) Liggitt; a son, Merle L. Liggitt Jr.; a brother, George Liggitt; sister, and a sister, Grace Bainbridge.
Friends of Merle W. "Bus" Liggitt will be received from 2-8 p.m. Thursday in the Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 305 Main Street, Imperial, PA, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery.
