Michael P. Burke

Michael P. Burke, 73, of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, and formerly of Bennetts Valley, died on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 26, 1937 in Bryn Mawr, son of the late Cyrl and Olga Burke.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Burke, on Nov. 4, 2001.          
He lived most of his life in the Philadelphia area, moving to Bennetts Valley 20 years ago after his retirement. He worked as an electrician for Alcatel-Lucent near Philadelphia. He served in a U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a member of the K. of C., Penfield Firemen's Club, Columbian Club of St. Marys, and Bennetts Valley Legion and Senior Center, where he was a past president.
A memorial service for Michael Burke will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pinecrest Manor Multipurpose Room, St. Marys. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Weedville.
Military honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley Legion Post 978 Burial Detail.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys or Helpmates of Ridgway, Pa.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield.
