Minor damage is reported in Kane Hardwood fire

Photo by Amy Geer This was the scene late Tuesday afternoon at a fire in a dust collection unit at Kane Hardwood. Damage was minimal, Kane Fire Chief Tim Holt said. No injuries were reported.

Heavy smoke and sparks greeted firefighters Tuesday when the Kane Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire call at Kane Hardwood.
Fire Chief Tim Holt said the fire was confined to a dust collection silo in a shipping area at the plant off Route 6 in Wetmore Township west of Kane.
