Myriad of topics discussed by council

August 24, 2014

Retention pond upkeep, emergency management update, airport wish list, and a City Manager's report were all items discussed recently by St. Marys City Council.
Councilman Greg Gebauer mentioned the new PennDOT installed retention ponds are not done yet and already have weeds in them about four feet high with sunflowers growing on them. He speculated when PennDOT is finished with that portion of the project the weeds are likely to be over six feet tall. These are weeds from the dirt already placed in the pond.
Greene replied more work has to be done on the bottom of the ponds so the weeds have to be cut down, taken out and new plants re-seeded in the pond.
