Nancy B. Gerbec

Nancy B. Gerbec, 78, of Cole Hill Road, Russell, died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Warren Manor following a brief stay.
Nancy was born Feb. 5, 1936 in Bradford, the daughter of the late Howard and Orta (Funk) Buchanan.
Nancy was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Warren High School. She was employed by Bell Telephone as an operator, and later at the Blair Corp., retiring after 25 years. Nancy was a member of the Scandia Covenant Church, attending as her health allowed. Among the things Nancy enjoyed, first and foremost were her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Dale Gerbec and his wife Brenda of Auburn, Ala., Dan Gerbec and his wife Rexa of Russell, and Don Gerbec and his wife Faith, also of Russell; one brother, Howard Buchanan and his wife Doris of Russell; 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Bradley, Danielle, Ryan, Shane, Zachary and Brent Gerbec, Lacey, Cody and Megan Rivett; one great-granddaughter, Cailyn Gerbec; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death on July 8, 2009 by her husband, Rudolph E. "Rudy" Gerbec, whom she married on Feb. 22, 1958 in Falconer, N.Y.; one sister, Norma Buchanan; and one brother, Roy Buchanan.
A funeral service for Nancy B. Gerbec will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 3 at the Scandia Covenant Church with Rev. Jon Meyer officiating. A private burial will follow in the Scandia Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Wednesday, April 2 from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Warren County or the Warren Cancer Care Center, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, Pa. 16365.
