Nancy Josephine Zameroski Root

Nancy Josephine Zameroski Root, 58, of North East, died on Friday, April 18, 2014 at UPMC Hamot after a short illness with breast cancer.
She was born on Jan. 9, 1956 in Ridgway to Catherine Scarfo Zameroski of North East and the late Henry (Hank) Zameroski (May 10, 1986).
Nancy was a graduate of North East High School and attended Slippery Rock University and Gannon University where she studied counseling psychology.
She was formerly employed at the Gertrude A. Barber Center as a behavior therapist and was currently employed as a Title Abstractor.
Nancy was a generous, loving, kind, and giving person who loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, cooking, gardening, and the art of conversation. She will "absolutely" be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her. 
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Clifford Root whom she married on Nov. 5, 1977 at St. Gregory Church; a son, Adam Root of North East; daughters Chrissy Hutchinson (Hal) of Pittsburgh, Danielle Root of North East, and Kelly Root of Pittsburgh; brothers Ricky Zameroski of Erie and Bobby Zameroski (Kathy) of California; cousins Dr. Star Kearney of Ridgway and Cely Mullaney (Kevin) of Arizona; grandchildren Aaron Hutchinson, Dominic Coletta, Harper Hutchinson, and Harrison Hutchinson; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Nancy Josephine Zameroski Root will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Gregory Cemetery. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home 65 South Lake St., North East, on Tuesday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
