Naomi R. Kifer

Naomi R. Kifer, 95, of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of Johnsonburg, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at Pinecrest Manor after a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 5, 1917 in Mansfield, daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Potter) Summers. In 1935, she married Elmer E. Kifer Sr., who predeceased her in 1966.
She worked with G.C. Murphy Company and Stackpole Carbon. She was Episcopalian by faith and was a past member of the Women of the Moose and the Women of the Elks. She lived all of her life in Johnsonburg.
She is survived by a son, Elmer E. Kifer Jr. of Johnsonburg; eight grandchildren; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Kitty Juela of Buffalo, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Betty R. Kifer; siblings Blane, Merritt, Bobby, Val, Grant and Verna Summers, and Fred, Bobby, Martha and Esther Herzog and Alberta Roupp.
Friends of Naomi R. Kifer will be welcomed on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 from 11 a.m. until noon at the Ubel Funeral home in Johnsonburg. Funeral services will commence at noon at the funeral home, with Pastor Ronald Burkett officiating. Interment will take place at Wardvale Methodist Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
