Ned J. Kopp

Ned J. Kopp, 80, of 313 Welsh St., Kane, formerly of St. Marys, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Dec. 14, 1931 in St. Marys, he was the son of the late William C. and Caroline E. Weber Kopp. On June 6, 1964 in Emporium, he married Marilyn M. Haviland, who died July 4, 2011.
Ned was a mechanic for Airco Speer in St. Marys for many years. He served in the U.S. Army after WWII and during the Korean War, and was part of the St. Marys Serviceman's Detail.
He belonged to the Loyal Order of Moose, the American Legion and the Protective Fraternal League, all in St. Marys, and was active in the Boys Club and an umpire for the Knothole Little League there. In Kane, he was a member of the VFW Post 1132 and the Eagles Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Yvonne Kopp-David of Imlay City, Mich.; a son, Brian Kopp of Kane; and a sister, Lois Haberberger of Eldred.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
There will be no visitation or service for Ned J. Kopp. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane.
