A new child care center opening in St. Marys will offer Elk County parents another quality option for their children’s needs.
A Step Ahead Child Center is located at the Elcam, Inc. building at 189 West Creek Rd. The 4,491-square-foot facility boasts separate areas for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children, and is designed to help them develop learning skills through play and a defined curriculum developed by Director Naomi A. Tucker and her staff. Every facet of the new facility was labored over during months of planning, even down to the name, according to Tucker.
“’A Step Ahead’ is symbolic for growth, which is our objective. We want the children to grow emotionally, socially, and intellectually,” Tucker said.
