New demolition project addresses blighted structures

June 22, 2014

The city approved funding for a new demolition project of two blighted structures, a house at 213 N. Michael St. and the Grange building at 219 N. Michael St.
Funding for the project, in the amount of $9,500, is being utilized from the city's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which is federal grant funding.
Ann Bolden, owner of Bold Looks and Bolden Apartments, has purchased the structures situated next to her business with plans to demolish them leaving one site vacant which she plans to utilize as parking and constructing a duplex on the other lot.
