Elk County Catholic High School inducted 28 students - 27 juniors and one senior - into the National Honor Society during a special ceremony held Tuesday night in the school's chapel following an evening prayer service.
Before the inductees were announced, the candle lighting ceremony took place, with faculty council member Jill Struble lighting a candle to represent the light of knowledge. Four of the inductees then came forward and each lit an additional candle, representing scholarship, service, leadership, and character. The students also read a brief summary of those qualities and how they relate to the National Honor Society.
