Norma Jean Hockman, 81, of 111 W. Long Ave., DuBois, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born on March 12, 1932 in DuBois, daughter of the late Richard C. Anderson Sr. and Laura E. (Derolf) Anderson.
On July 26, 1953, in DuBois, she married Charles E. Hockman and he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1992.
She was a housewife and candy maker and a former telephone operator for Bell Telephone. She graduated from DuBois Area High School in 1950.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DuBois. She was also a member of Eastern Star, was a den mother for Cub Scouts, a member of Martha Group, and was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Joan) Hockman of DuBois and Timothy (Carolyn) Hockman of St. Marys; a daughter, Tammy (Michael) Laukitis of Ruckersville, Va.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Marion Clontz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles E. Hockman Jr.; and a brother, Richard C. Anderson Jr.
Funeral Services for Norma Jean Hockman will be held at the First United Methodist Church in DuBois today, Thursday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Lance Tucker.
Interment will be Morningside Cemetery in DuBois.
Visitation was held Wednesday evening at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc., 1312 Chestnut Ave., DuBois from 6-9 p.m.
