Gannon University students Bryton Dybowski of Ridgway, Shelby Davison of Ridgway and Don Breakey of Johnsonburg recently traveled to Joplin, Mo., to assist victims of the May 2011 tornado. The trip was a part of an alternative spring break program offering students something to do with their time off.
“A lot of kids go home and relax,” said Breakey, a biology and pre-med major at Gannon. “I wanted to do something productive and give myself a new perspective on what is out there and what can be done.”
Dybowski went because of her love of service work.
