Olive Mae Spang, 94, Weedville, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home after a short illness.
Olive was born Jan. 13, 1920 in Caledonia, daughter of the late Exper and Frances Doyle Youngmark.
Olive was a 1937 graduate of Weedville High School. She had cooked at Little Skipper Restaurant, worked at Echo Glenn Egg farm, and was a care giver for many years. She was also a Member of Caledonia United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Weedville American Legion Auxiliary.
Olive is survived by her husband, Dale Spang; seven children, Exper Fox and wife Rose Mary of Weedville, Richard â€śTimâ€ť Fox and wife Theresa of Maryland, Gregory Morgan Sr. and wife Nona of St. Marys, Mrs. Charles (Wanda) Cian of Caledonia, Christine Steele of Brookville, Mrs. Alan (Linda) Geitner of St. Marys, and Mrs. Kenneth (Patricia) Porter of Weedville; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Minnie Assalone of Weedville; and a brother, Theodore Youngmark and wife Gloria of Caledonia.
Olive is preceded in death by her first husband, Edward James Fox; her second husband, John Morgan; a son-in-law, Ron Steele; and a sister, Denalda DeCarli.
Friends are welcome to attend a service for Olive Mae Spang which will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at The Caledonia Methodist Church in Caledonia, with Rev. Lola Turnbull, Pastor.
Arrangements are under the direction of The Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield.
