One dead in Mersen explosion

Officials on Thursday confirmed the death of a St. Marys Mersen USA employee after an industrial explosion in the morning.
Noah Nichelson, St. Marys Mersen USA general manager, said in a statement to WJAC that one employee was killed and two were injured following “an equipment related accident” at the plant.
A receptionist at the plant earlier in the day said there would be no comment regarding the accident.
