Orlin Gray

April 8, 2011

Orlin Gray, 70, of Gray Hill Road, Weedville, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at home following a lengthy illness.
He was born on May 4, 1940 to the late Lloyd B. "Chizzie" and Jane M. (Wilt) Gray. He was married to Corda M. (Wehler) Gray, who survives, for 50 happy years.
He resided all of his life in the Valley, most especially on Gray Hill, where he was born and died. He attended Bennetts Valley schools until he enlisted in the Navy in 1957, serving one tour of duty as a radioman on both the Myles C. He was a heavy equipment operator, a certified electrician, and served as a supervisor or foreman on most of his jobs. His last employment was at North Star Aggregates in Penfield. He was a member of the Weedville Wesleyan Church and served in several leadership positions there. He enjoyed beekeeping, hunting, gardening, bicycling, motorcycling, woodworking and was a general jack-of-all-trades; but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, by whom he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Anna Rearick, Ralph Ryden, Linda Minns, Donna Gragg, Anita Garthwaite and Orlin Gray II; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Gray and Paul Gray; and one sister, Connie Bellas.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Pearl Rezsutek, Zane Gray, June Aiu, Ada Leasgang and Alice Roussell.
