Patricia L. Gavazzi, 80, of 185 Center St., St. Marys, formerly of Kane Street, Wilcox, died Friday morning, April 18, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 13, 1933 in Wilcox, daughter of Alfred and Anna Halquist Lundberg.
She has been married to Aldo Gavazzi for the past 59 years, marrying on Nov. 13, 1954, and he survives.
She resided in Wilcox all her life and was a Wilcox High School graduate.
She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Wilcox. She was a longtime secretary at the church as well as working at the church in many other capacities.
She was employed by Stackpole Ceramagnet for many years before retiring in 1984.
She also had worked at the New York & PA Co. of Johnsonburg.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Rickey Gavazzi and his wife Gail of St. Marys; a daughter, Joyce A., Mrs. Harry Bortmes of Evans City; three grandchildren, Eric Gavazzi and his wife Heidi of Indiana, Chelsea, Mrs. Corey Bonfardin of Force and Cody Bortmas of Renfrew; one great-grandchild, Bentley Gavazzi of Indiana; two brothers, Roger Halquist of Wilcox, and Henry Halquist and his wife Laurabelle of Johnsonburg; and one sister, Jenny, Mrs. Michael Ferko of North East.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Harry, John and Raymond Halquist; and sisters Dorothy Thompson, Helen Richardson, Hildegard Gressin, Frances Wantuck, Louella Johnson and Phyllis Johnson.
A Funeral Service for Patricia L. Gavazzi will be conducted at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Wilcox on Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Ridgway. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
