Patricia Pontzer Lanese

Patricia Pontzer Lanese, 72, of Highland View Health Care in Brockway, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Ridgway, the daughter of Robert and Bertha Friery Pontzer. She graduated from Ridgway Area High School, Class of 1958.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts from Immaculata College in Paoli, Pa., she received her Administrative Assistant Certificate from Katharine Gibbs in Boston. Patricia was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church where she was a longtime rectory employee. She was an active member of the Ridgway Catholic Daughters of America and the Elk County Footlighters.
She is survived by two children, Deanna Lanese of Terre Haute, Ind., and Robert Pontzer of Ridgway; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Peter Pontzer of Altoona, and John Pontzer of Ridgway; and by a sister, Diane Peckham of Columbia, Mo.
She was predeceased by her parents, and by her former husband, Dean Lanese.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia Pontzer Lanese will be held in St. Leo’s Catholic Church at the convenience of the family. Officiating will be Fr. Brian Vossler, pastor. Interment will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Ridgway C.D. of A., c/o Jan Wonderly, 214 Orchard Ave., Ridgway, PA 15853.
