Patricia A. Rees Covel

Patricia A. Rees Covel, 80, of Pinecrest Manor, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 5, 1931 in Ridgway, the daughter of the late Paul and Cecilia Scherer Rees.
On Aug. 6, 1960, she married Harry N. Covel; he survives.
Mrs. Covel was a lifelong Ridgway resident. She was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and the Good Samaritan Society. She was a graduate of St. Leo’s School. She had been employed at United Natural Gas until 1960.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children, Harriet Taylor (Jerry) of St. Marys, Paula Kennedy (Michael) of Erie, Sara Handley (Michael) of Portland Mills, Donna Covel of Ridgway, Mary Ellen Kob (John) of Manassas, Va., and Edward Covel (Michael) of Ridgway; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Zita Verne, Adeline Rees and Elizabeth Rees, all of Ridgway; and by a brother-in-law, Robert Weidert of Ridgway.
She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Eugene, Karl, and the Rev. Paul Rees; and by four sisters, Yvonne Weidert, Mary Margaret Dussia, Rose Mary Yarmey, and Margaret Covel in infancy.
A Memorial Mass for Patricia A. Rees Covel will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church on Wednesday, June13, 2012 at 9 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Ross Miceli. Interment will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to The Ridgway Public Library, 329 Center St., Ridgway; or to Pinecrest Manor, 763 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, PA 15857.
