Pearl A. Nashadka

Pearl A. Nashadka, 74, of 424 Water Street Extension, Johnsonburg, and formerly of Mefferts Run Road, Wilcox, died Friday evening, Sept. 30, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a short illness.
She was born Feb. 5, 1937 in Ridgway, daughter of the late William and Harriett Wolfe Girts.
She married Walter A. Nashadka on Dec. 21, 1957, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1997.
She resided in Wilcox most of her life, but lived briefly in Buffalo, N.Y. and Johnsonburg.
She attended Johnsonburg High School and was a member of First Baptist Church, Johnsonburg. She was an avid reader and loved playing cards.
She was also employed at Keyston Carbon Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1997.
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl, Mrs. Paul Reinsburrow of Wilcox and Linda Nashadka of Ridgway; two grandchildren, Amanda Reinsburrow of Miami, Fla. and Rebecca Reinsburrow of Wilcox; a brother, Glenn E. Girts of Brockway; and a sister, Gwendolyn Housler Girts of Pittsburgh.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wallace, Donald and James Girts.
A funeral service for Pearl A. Nashadka will be conducted at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen Nuhfer, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Johnsonburg.
Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
