Peggy Ann Samick

Peggy Ann Samick, 79, of 138 Airport Road, St. Marys, died on Monday morning, Sept. 19, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 4, 1932 in Cameron County, a daughter of Dorothy Berry Card of Sterling Run and the late Charles Orville Card.
On January 2, 1961 in Emporium, she married Albert M. "Loppo" Samick, Jr., who preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1999.
Mrs. Samick was Protestant by faith. She and her husband lived in Welaka, Fla. for many years and enjoyed the time they had spent there. She enjoyed reading, crafts, knitting and crocheting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Glenn "Dick" Lyon and his wife Joyce of Emporium; two daughters, Pamela Samick of St. Marys and Sheila (Larry) Samick of St. Marys; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Card and his wife Glenda of Sterling Run and Steven Card and his wife Patricia of Massachusetts; four sisters, Shirley (Grover) Reed of Ohio, Esther (William) Sprung of Florida, Phyllis (Charles) Eskew of Florida, and Dorothy Lewis of Emporium; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy; a son, Eugene C. "Tuck" Lyon; two brothers, Charles "Joe" Card and David Card; and two sons-in-law, Leo "Winkle" Samick and Scott "Lou" Samick.
Funeral services for Peggy Ann Samick will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 North Michael Street, St. Marys, on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Chris Kindle, pastor of First United Methodist Church, ofï¬ciating.
The family will greet and receive friends prior to the funeral on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will be in the St. Marys Protestant Cemetery.
