Pennies for Patients program helping those with leukemia

Helping kids with cancer was the goal of St. Marys Area Middle School students as they recently concluded their fundraising efforts during their "Pennies for Patients" collection, a program sponsored by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).
During a special school assembly, members of the Student Council, overseen by advisor Miss Smith, presented a check in the amount of $1,897.37 to Megan Nemecek, campaign coordinator for the LLS School and Youth Programs Western PA/WV Chapter.
