Peter Gary Garbic

Peter Gary Garbic, 68, of 1126 Bosch Dr., Green Valley, AZ, and a former St. Marys resident, died on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010 at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, AZ, after a lengthy illness.
He was born June 3, 1942, in St. Marys, son of the late Peter J. Garbic and Ann Burdick Garbic. He was a lifelong resident of the area and had lived in Arizona for the past 2 1/2 years. He was the retired owner of Pete’s Pepperoni in St. Marys.
On June 17, 1968, in the St. Mary’s Church, he married Jody Schloder, who survives. Also surviving is a son, Jason Garbic and his wife Veronica of Rockville, MD; a sister, Justine McCafferty and her husband William of St. Marys; three nieces, Loree Brazinski, Lisa Palmer and Jenny Warren; a nephew, Bill McCafferty Jr.; and 12 great-nieces and nephews.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Peter James Garbic, and by a niece, Miriam McCafferty.
Family and friends of the late Peter Gary Garbic are invited to attend a funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, as celebrant. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
