Polly (Baum) Witmer

Polly (Baum) Witmer, 54, of Reston, Va., died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Polly was born in Ridgway, daughter of the late Edward and Betty Baum.
She graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1977 and from Mount Aloysius College in 1979. She worked as a certified occupational therapist assistant in Jamestown, N.Y., and Fairfax, Va.
Polly was also a certified massage therapist treating both people and animals. She enjoyed being active outdoors with hiking, skiing, running, scuba diving, rafting, and camping.
She is survived by four sisters, Mary Hunt (Don) of Ridgway, Barbara Rendos (Michael) of Lock Haven, Diane Elliott (George) of Fredericksburg, Va., and Laura Lynch (Shawn) of Johnsonburg, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors to cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for Polly (Baum) Witmer will be held Saturday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, Va. A funeral mass and burial will take place on Saturday, March 15 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg.
