Preliminary plans to proceed with the downtown hotel project were given the go-ahead on Monday evening as St. Marys City Council approved a request from Todd Hanes of St. Marys, representing Creekside Investments, as the project developer.
The project will consist of a 65-room national flag hotel.
Hanes said he must obtain council's permission first in order to proceed with the project because there is grant money involved coming from North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission. The city is also involved in the process.
