Pre'vous' the Rendezvous

With the 12th annual Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous scheduled for Feb. 19-26, Jeff Androsky, an official from a production company based in Los Angeles, passed through town Friday in an effort to capture carvers immersed in their trade.
"[The company] makes a lot of different reality-type shows and this idea was brought to us by a guy named Steve Howard, who has known the Bonis," Androsky said, referring to the founders of the Rendezvous. "[Howard] put together a little tape with a guy and we liked it-- I took it to A&E and The Discovery Channel and they both were really impressed with the characters that were being interviewed and such.
"It wasn't a very long tape and they didn't get to see enough of the people, so now I'm here to do more in-depth interviews with everybody and then A&E or Discovery or National Geographic channel will select who they would like us to follow.
"The best way to look at it is kind of like 'Deadliest Catch' with chainsaws because there's a ticking clock with these guys in the summertime, where they have three months to make their money for a year and if they don't, they don't eat as much, so that's kind of the way we're looking at it, and starting with the Rendezvous."
