ST. MARYS – Employees and officials at Pro Process, LLC in St. Marys recently surpassed 1,500 safe days at their building along Brusselles Street in St. Marys.
According to Mark Myers, manager of the company and a Johnsonburg resident, Pro Process, LLC began operations in October 2002 as a supplier of secondary machining operations for the powder metal industry.
"Machining operations, which include drilling and tapping, lathe and mill work, involve a high degree of eye-hand coordination along with some lifting," Myers said. "It has taken a remarkable effort by all employees. They have created a work environment where nothing comes before safety.
"Our long-term employees are continually working with the new hires and training them in safe work practices."
The company has a state-certified safety committee, which is comprised of both management personnel and the machine operators.
"These members meet monthly and are rotated to assure new ideas and suggestions," Myers said. "This forum for an open exchange has proved invaluable to our teamwork and our safety."
The company's employees have worked over 300,000 hours without lost time due to injury on the job.
