PSUD students get hands-on experience at elk check station

QUEHANNA – Students in a wildlife management techniques class at Penn State DuBois found themselves out of the classroom and actually out in the field earlier this week as they traveled to the Pennsylvania Game Commission's elk check station in Quehanna and had the opportunity to assist PGC staff in examining and taking samples from elk harvested in this year's elk hunt. Keely Roen, senior instructor in wildlife technology, explained that the class of 16 students was divided into two sessions for the trip to the check station, with one group of students going in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
