Questions surround Jay Twp. appointment

An appointment to fill a vacancy within the Jay Township Water Authority had attendees of Thursday's meeting of the board of supervisors shaking their heads and accusing board members of violating their own policy concerning the application process.
Applicants for the vacancy created by the February resignation of Geoff Sidelinger were Marty Rosenfeld and Jay Twp. Supervisor Murray K. "Keith" Lilley.
Attendees of the meeting said board members were not following protocol in considering Rosenfeld for the position, as his application and financial statement were not re-submitted 10 days prior to Thursday's meeting, the 10-day period having been previously mandated by the board in announcing the vacancy at last month's meeting.
