Quick thinking, community support helped save hospital 'stuff' during fire

Photo courtesy of the St. Marys Historical Society Lack of water kept the firemen from saving Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital, but much of the equipment was saved and all of the patients were evacuated safely.

Last month marked 78 years since one of the most fateful days in the history of Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital-- the day the hospital was destroyed by fire on Nov. 27, 1934.
