Rain not an obstacle for Mario Kart tournament

August 3, 2014

Photo by Becky Polaski Individuals of all ages competed in Memorial Park's Mario Kart video game tournament on Sunday afternoon. A number of participants are shown gathered around the two televisions that were set up in the scout building for the occasion as they watch their fellow competitors battle their way through the double elimination tournament.

The staff at Memorial Park did not know what the weather would be like on Sunday afternoon back when they first scheduled their Mario Kart video game tournament, but the event, which was held inside the scout building located adjacent to the park's basketball courts, ended up being a perfect fit for the rainy afternoon.
Fifteen two-person teams made up of individuals of a variety of age ranges competed in the double elimination tournament, and a number of other people stopped by just to watch or cheer on their friends.
